This Horrifying Crash-Test Video Convinced Us to Wear Seatbelts in the Back Seat

Every new Ford vehicle comes equipped with seatbelt reminders for the front passenger and the driver, but the same cannot be said for passengers in the back seat. In fact, only 3 percent of new vehicles on the market today have rear-seat reminders.

Lack of in-car alerts could be one of the reasons far fewer Americans wear their seatbelt when they're riding as a rear-seat passenger.
